Context
A DIFC-based payments platform serving UAE SMEs had a strong product but almost no organic presence. When prospects asked ChatGPT or Google's AI Mode for payment providers in the UAE, the brand rarely appeared, while larger competitors were named every time. Paid search was carrying the whole acquisition load at a rising cost. This is an example engagement that illustrates how we work; the client is anonymised and the figures are illustrative.

Objective
Build an organic channel that produces qualified sign-ups, and make the brand one AI assistants name and cite for the questions SMEs actually ask about payments, fees and settlement in the UAE. Success meant sign-ups and citation rate, not traffic for its own sake.
Approach
We ran SEO and GEO as one programme with a shared baseline and a monthly scorecard.
- Baseline: a technical audit plus an AI visibility baseline across 50 buyer prompts in ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and AI Overviews.
- Technical fixes: rendering, Core Web Vitals, schema for Organization, Service and FAQ, and open access for AI crawlers.
- Answer-first content: service pages, fee explainers and comparison pages written for extraction, with clear definitions and dated facts.
- Original research: a report on how UAE SMEs get paid, built from anonymised, aggregated platform data, which gave journalists and AI engines something worth citing.
- Entity and PR: consistent facts across directories and profiles, plus data-led stories for regional business media.

Result
In a scenario like this, the research asset does the heavy lifting. Over six months in this illustration, organic sign-ups rose 180%, non-brand organic clicks grew 95%, and the brand was cited in 34 of the 50 tracked AI prompts, up from a handful at baseline. Paid search could then be trimmed to the terms that truly paid back.
- Organic sign-ups
- +180%
- Tracked AI prompts citing the brand
- 34/50
- Non-brand organic clicks
