Instagram and TikTok bio
- Instagram: Edit profile → Links → Add external link, then paste the link.
- TikTok: paste it into the Website field if your profile has one (usually business accounts). If not, add it to your link-in-bio page.
- Add a short call to action above it, e.g. “Message us to book”.
Your number is visible in the link and QR code. Use a business number you’re happy to share publicly. Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is saved or tracked by us.
How the link is built
- Link format
https://wa.me/<country code + number>?text=<URL-encoded message>- Cleaning the number
Remove spaces, dashes, brackets, + or 00, and the local leading 0- Example (UAE)
050 123 4567 → 971501234567 → https://wa.me/971501234567- Message
Encoded so spaces, line breaks, emoji and Arabic survive the link
How do you write your number in a wa.me link?
- Country code first, then the number.
- No +, 00, spaces, dashes or brackets.
- Drop the local leading 0. In the UAE, 050 123 4567 becomes 971501234567.
- The message is optional and must be URL-encoded, which the generator does for you.
| Country | Local number | wa.me link |
|---|---|---|
| UAE (+971) | 050 123 4567 | wa.me/971501234567 |
| Saudi Arabia (+966) | 050 123 4567 | wa.me/966501234567 |
| Qatar (+974) | 3312 3456 | wa.me/97433123456 |
| United Kingdom (+44) | 07700 900123 | wa.me/447700900123 |
Your number is public
Anyone can read the number in the link and QR code, and share them. Use a business number you’re happy to publish, and keep anything private out of the pre-filled message.
Where should you put your WhatsApp link?
In the UAE and wider GCC, many customers would rather start a conversation on WhatsApp. Put the link wherever they already look for you.
- Instagram and TikTok bios, so followers can message you in one tap.
- Your website, as a button on contact, product and booking pages.
- Google Business Profile, in the website or booking link fields, or in posts.
- Email signatures and newsletters.
- Print and packaging: flyers, menus, shop windows and business cards, using the QR code.
- Ads: on Facebook and Instagram, click-to-WhatsApp ads open the chat straight from the ad. Use the link for ads that send people to your website.
Should you use WhatsApp Business or a personal number?
Links work with any WhatsApp number. For a business, the free WhatsApp Business app adds a profile, opening hours, catalogue, quick replies and labels.
| Option | Best for | Automation |
|---|---|---|
| WhatsApp (personal) | Sole traders, testing | None |
| WhatsApp Business app | Small teams on one phone | Greeting, away, quick replies |
| WhatsApp Business Platform (API) | Teams, CRMs, bots | Full: CRM, chatbots, AI agents |
When several people answer, the Business Platform connects to your CRM and can run chatbots or AI agents in English and Arabic. Our AI automation service builds these; see examples of automations.
